DumDum Privacy Policy

This policy covers both the DumDum Sale-Price Predictor browser extension and the dumdum.fyi website that backs it. Both are operated by the same individual maintainer.

What we collect

• When you view a property page on Zillow, Redfin, or Realtor.com with the extension enabled, the extension reads the page URL only to extract the property's address (street, city, state, ZIP). That address is sent to dumdum.fyi so the predictor can look up or compute a price estimate.
• The dumdum.fyi backend logs standard HTTP request metadata (timestamp, URL path, response status). It does not log IP addresses tied to identity, set tracking cookies, or run third-party analytics.

What we do not collect

• No name, email, phone number, or other personally identifying information.
• No browsing history beyond the single property page you are actively viewing.
• No data is sold, rented, or shared with any third party.
• No advertising or marketing identifiers.

Data we store on the server

To answer prediction requests, the backend caches publicly available real-estate listing data (sale history, list prices, square footage, etc.) scraped from public sources. This data is about properties, not about you. Predictions are not associated with any individual user.

Data the extension stores locally

The extension stores one setting locally — the backend URL it should contact (default https://dumdum.fyi) — using Chrome's storage.sync API. Chrome's standard sync behavior may replicate this value across your signed-in Chrome profiles. We have no access to it.

Permissions we request, and why

• storage — to remember the configured backend URL.
• Host permissions for zillow.com, redfin.com, and realtor.com — to detect property pages and inject the prediction widget.
• Host permission for dumdum.fyi — to fetch predictions from the backend.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy materially changes we will update the date above. The current version always lives at https://dumdum.fyi/privacy.
